I worked with Amanda to lose weight for my wedding, but six years later we're still training together — just remotely since we moved. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
Libby Snyder · client since 2019

Why this keeps not working

Stressed, tired of being tired, and still not closer to your goals? Imagine waking up knowing you're moving toward them. Whether that's losing weight, having the energy to keep up with your life, body recomposition — a lifted booty and sculpted arms — coming back from an injury, or getting ready for one big day, Amanda has your back.

And you're not lazy. You're guessing. Without a plan you go hard for three weeks, train through stress and four hours of sleep, miss a week, feel behind, and stop — then blame yourself for what was really a planning problem.

Burnout isn't a character flaw either. It's what happens when training is one more thing demanding energy you don't have, with no rhythm to it and no sense of whether any of it is working. Add a stressful job and poor sleep and the body stops recovering — so the harder you push, the worse the results get, which is exactly when most people decide they're the problem.

Amanda has spent seventeen years watching that cycle, and the fix is less dramatic than people expect. You get a plan built around your body and your life as they actually are — your cycle, your age, your schedule, and how much load you can genuinely recover from right now — so a hard week at work doesn't end the whole thing. No guessing, no deciding anything at 6 a.m., no starting over every January. Sticking with it is the game changer — so that's what she builds for.

That means working with your body instead of against it. Not punishing it, not overriding what it's telling you, but training in a way it can absorb and come back from. And it means small habits rather than heroics: a handful of things you can genuinely keep doing, stacked week over week until they add up to results that look dramatic from the outside and are felt just as much on the inside.

It starts with a 30-minute assessment over video — Amanda getting to know your body and you. A lot of talking about what you want, why you want it, what your days look like, and what hasn't worked before, then she'll watch you move to see where you're actually at: what's tight, what's strong, what isn't. She builds your plan from that. Every body is different, so every plan is different — tailored to your unique life and goals. No judgment about what you can and cannot do. Amanda is on your team and meets you where you're at.

Two ways to train

Train with her,
or train on her plan

Train live with Amanda on video, or follow her custom plan on your own with a weekly check-in. If you can swing the live sessions, take them — having her in the room is what makes the difference, and it's the version she'd pick for you.

Most clients start here Option one

Online sessions

Amanda trains you live over video — the full session, with her in it. She watches every rep, catches the thing you can't see yourself, and changes the workout mid-set when something isn't moving right. It's the closest thing to standing next to her, and it's where clients progress fastest.

  • Live video sessions, 45–55 minutes
  • Real-time form correction, set by set
  • The workout adjusts to the day you're having
  • Custom plan updated every week
  • Messaging access between sessions
  • Hardest to skip — she's waiting for you

Best if you want the fastest progress

Option two

Workout plans
with check-ins

Amanda writes your workouts and you run them on your own schedule. You log each session in a shared sheet she keeps for you, then meet her on a 15-minute video call at the same time every week to review it and set the next one. She explains the reasoning as you go, so over time you can read a program and adjust it yourself.

  • Custom plan written for you, updated weekly
  • 15-minute video check-in, same slot each week
  • Shared log she reviews between calls
  • Messaging access for questions

Best if you train on your own time

Also available: in-person sessions in Santa Monica, pairs and small groups, and on-location work for shoots and travel. Limited availability — ask when you apply.

Every client starts with a 30-minute assessment so Amanda can see how you move before anything is written. Most clients give it twelve weeks — you can stop whenever you like, but that's about how long real change takes. In-person sessions in Santa Monica are priced separately; ask when you apply.

What training is actually for

Strong first.
Everything else
follows

Most people arrive wanting to change how they look. That's a fine reason to start, and Amanda won't pretend otherwise. But it isn't what keeps anyone training, and it isn't what they end up talking about a year in.

What they talk about is confidence. Walking into a gym knowing exactly what they're there to do. Picking up their kid without bracing first. Keeping up with their own life — and having the energy left to enjoy it. That kind of confidence gets built out of evidence: things you couldn't do before and now can.

None of it runs on shame. No punishing you for a week off, no treating food as something to earn back, and before-and-afters only if you want them. Amanda works with the body you have today — and a lot of this is learning to love it along the way.

  • You set the goal — aesthetic, athletic, or just feeling like yourself again. All three are legitimate.
  • Every body is different. Yours gets a program, not a template.

The trainer

Seventeen years,
and a reason

Amanda has a degree in psychology and has been a certified personal trainer since she was 23. She's 40 now — seventeen years of clients, and she still writes every program by hand.

She came to this the hard way. She was told she wasn't the “skinny one,” she was “medium.” Thunder thighs got said once and stayed for years. By her early twenties she was bulimic — tired, inflamed, broke, and scared of her own body.

Asking for help was one of the hardest things she has ever done, and it was the turning point. It also taught her the thing she's built everything on since: a body responds when you work with it, and fights back when you don't.

That became the mission. She got certified the year she found her footing, and in seventeen years it hasn't changed, it's just gotten better: get people to a place where they love their body again, or for the first time. Everything else — the programming, the weekly calls, the twelve-week blocks — is in service of that.

The psychology degree turned out to matter more than she expected. Most of what keeps people from reaching their goals isn't physical — it's the all-or-nothing thinking, the shame after a missed week, the habits that never quite stick. That's the part she was trained to understand, and it's the part most trainers skip.

It's also why nothing here runs on shame. She's been on the other side of that, and it doesn't work.

  • 2009

Certified as a personal trainer at 23, the year her own relationship with food and training turned around — with a psychology degree already behind her.

  • Today

Seventeen years in. Trains clients over video from Santa Monica, still takes the 6 a.m., and still writes every program by hand.

The questions
everyone asks

What does it cost?

Custom plans with a weekly check-in start at $349 a month, month to month. Live online sessions are sold in packages: eight sessions for $1,120 ($140 each) or twelve for $1,560 ($130 each). Amanda doesn't sell single sessions — one workout won't change anything, and the programming only works as a block. The 30-minute assessment comes first either way, and in-person sessions in Santa Monica are priced separately.

Do I need a gym?

No. Amanda builds your plan around what you actually have access to — a full gym, a garage with two dumbbells, or a hotel room and nothing else. Tell her what you've got at the assessment and she works from there.

What equipment do I need to start?

For online sessions: enough floor space to lie down and stretch your arms out, plus a phone or laptop you can prop up so she can see you move. Equipment is optional at the start. If buying a couple of things would open up your programming, she'll tell you exactly what and why — she won't send you a shopping list on day one.

What if I travel a lot?

Plenty of her clients do. Travel weeks get their own version of the plan — usually something that works in a hotel gym or a room with no equipment at all — so a trip doesn't break the streak. Just flag it at your check-in.

How soon will I see results?

Strength and energy usually move first, often within three or four weeks. Visible change takes longer — which is why most clients give it twelve weeks. That's not a commitment you're signing, it's just honestly about how long it takes. Where you start, how consistently you train, and what's happening with sleep and stress all move that number, and Amanda will give you a straight read at the assessment rather than one designed to get you to sign up.

What happens on the assessment?

Thirty minutes on video. Mostly talking — what you want, why, what your days look like, what hasn't worked before — then she'll have you move through a few things so she can see how you move and where you're starting. She writes your plan from that.

Am I too out of shape for this?

No. A good share of her clients start having not trained in years, or ever. The plan starts where you are, not where someone else is — that's the entire point of assessing you first.

Am I locked into a contract?

No contracts, no joining fee, month to month. Cancel whenever. She'll suggest giving it twelve weeks because that's how long results take, but nothing holds you there — and if it isn't working, Amanda would genuinely rather you told her so she can fix it or let you go.

Why do I have to apply?

Amanda only takes on a handful of new clients at a time, because every plan is written by hand and the check-ins are real appointments on her calendar. Applying lets her see whether she has room and whether she's the right fit before either of you commits.
